چکیده
The great saphenous vein is the longest in human body and has been one of most preferred autologous tissue bypass surgery. It affected by life conditions causing pathological dilatations called varices. We observed bilaterally duplicated saphenousvein both lower limbs an elderly male cadaver during our routine dissection for undergraduate anatomy education. Aftera detailed inspection veins at sides, we measured illustrated variant branches. In this case report, presentedbilaterally veins, accompanied accessory vein. To best knowledge, there are nosuch variations reported literature so far. think that recognizing such before surgery will increase success.

The Great Saphenous Vein-An Anatomical Study
The anatomical variations are more frequently encountered in the venous system particularly in the superficial veins when compared to the arterial system. The great saphenous vein is the longest vein of the body and represents preaxial vein of lower limb. The venous anatomy is of great importance to the surgeons and sonographers. The present study included 25 lower limbs during routine dissecti...

OBJECTIVE To explore the selective retention of the great saphenous vein trunk below the knee to prevent saphenous nerve injury during varicose vein surgery. PATIENTS AND METHODS This research was a single-center prospective randomized trial. From January 2009 to January 2012, 280 patients of varicose veins in the great saphenous vein were treated and divided into two groups of 140 cases each...
متن کاملLong saphenous vein and its anatomical variations
Vascular ultrasonography has an important role in the diagnosis and management of venous disease. The venous system, however, is more complex and variable compared to the arterial system due to its frequent anatomical variations. This often becomes quite challenging for sonographers. This paper discusses the anatomy of the long saphenous vein and its anatomical variations accompanied by sonogra...

متن کاملThe great saphenous vein for central venous access and haemodialysis.
BACKGROUND Utilising an open surgical technique the Great Saphenous vein in the proximal thigh can be used for the insertion of central venous catheters for haemodialysis. This approach is safe and efficacious, and may be performed under local or general anaesthesia. This technique is of particular importance in patients requiring vascular access for haemodialysis in whom the upper central vein...
